2017 Ford F-150 Price And Specs

Rumors about Ford introducing a revamped version of the magnificent F-150 have been circulating for a while. Now, it has finally been confirmed that upgraded F-150 will go on sale in 2017 as the 2018 model. While we are waiting for it to come, we still have an excellent generation that received many upgrades and to which 2017 Ford F-150 belongs.

Ford’s main goal was to make a truck that will go step further and offer much more than extra mile and to even over-deliver. One of the ways to do this is to offer a special version of the truck, and that is exactly where the Raptor model fits in perfectly. Changes that were made for this generation showed truck that is significantly lighter yet more capable, stiffer, and more powerful than the outgoing model. Therefore, the new F-150 managed to meet the challenge of durability, performance, dependability, and performance. When the carmaker pulled covers off the Atlas Concept, we were pretty sure that the concept would be used for overhauling the F-150. Afterward, our suspicions turned out to be true; we have received one impressive machine. For those that want more, we could hear some whispers that F-150 Raptor will also be brought to the table for the 2017 model year, and this will represent the biggest change in the lineup.

The current generation of the F-150 has been revised from bumper to bumper. This new design language employs completely different body style and chassis that now uses high-strength steel and aluminum. Thanks to the new materials, the carmaker managed to trim roughly 700 pounds from the overall weight of the F-150, which further has a rather positive impact on performance, acceleration, and fuel economy. The front end hosts a new, more prominent grille with three bars. On each end of the grille, you will notice newly designed headlights. The distinctive units are now equipped with LED technology, so those who work past dusk will benefit from improved vision. The bumper center section hasn’t been changed all that much but on each side, you will notice integrated fog lights with LED technology as well. Around back, you will see a pair of reworked taillights while the bed also comes with LED lighting for easier access and operation. New additions for the 2017 model year are mainly associated with more equipment in each trim and include a new, 360-degree camera, integrated loading ramps, fully integrated tailgate step, side-view mirrors with LED spotlights, and more.

Not many changes will hit the interior of the F-150, after all, it is still fresh and interesting. We know that the cabin will be slightly improved in terms of materials and standard equipment. As we mentioned before the biggest change is the delivery of the F150 Raptor, that will get unique leather seats with suede inserts. Aesthetically, things will look great. A new steering wheel with paddle shifters will be added too. There will also be a large digital display which shows a great deal of information such as the mechanical status of the vehicle, off-road info, trip details, navigation and similar. The center stack will be wide enough to host numerous buttons and controls for audio system, climate controls and similar. Thanks to the new accent lighting, the cabin will look futuristic and more appealing.

Moreover, the cabin is extremely spacious, with limo-like legroom space, especially for the rear passengers if you opt for the SuperCrew Cab version. Another interesting and useful thing Ford ad is an 110-volt power outlet for charging phones and laptops. Other features include 8-inch LCD screen, adaptive cruise control, SYNC infotainment system and more. Many would think that even this is not a refreshed model Ford still decided to make few changes. We can agree with that and simply put, they need to do this with pretty much every new model in the truck segment since the competition is close.

Ford’s main goal is to meet the needs of all its customers; they offer a rather versatile engine lineup. The tried-and-true 3.5-liter, naturally-aspirated V-6, 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8, and twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 will be carried over. New engine option is a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6. It will put down 325 ponies and 375 pound-feet of torque. The carmaker claims that it will deliver the class-leading fuel economy. The 3.5-liter turbo engine is said to deliver 450 horsepower.

Details about other engine options are yet to be announced, of course, if any other will be offered. It is the right time to talk about rumors we could hear about. These stories are related to the possibility for this car maker to offer a diesel version of their most popular truck. There are no details about which unit could be used but anything between the 3.0 liter V6 turbocharged diesel and 5.0 liter V8 could be coming. It might not beat gasoline engines in terms of power but with the insane amount of torque and improved fuel economy, these could become a really good option. Have in mind that Ford managed to shave off about 700 pounds with higher usage of aluminum with this and diesel option we could see fantastic fuel efficiency results.

If you want Raptor version, expect it to start at about $50,000, this is currently only a prediction based on the previous generation model that started at about $45,000.
